Massachusetts College of Art and Design is a small, public college of the visual arts. It is one of the oldest art schools in the United States. It is a top-ranked art school and offers bachelor degrees and masters programs, including in art education. The campus is located in the Fenway section of Boston.

Summer Programs at Massachusetts College of Art and Design

Summer Studios is a four-week intensive program for serious artists. It is offered on a residential or commuter basis. Students attend core courses in 2D and 3D Fundamental and “Issues and Images” and then choose electives in graphic design, painting, fashion design, photography and illustration. College credit is offered for an additional fee for having the student’s portfolio graded. 

Summer Intensives are for high school students interested in the serious development of their work and portfolio. Creative Vacation runs concurrently and is an art exploration for younger students, grades 4 – 9. Half-day sessions are available for either program.
