Knox College is a small college located in the small city of Galesburg, an hour by car from Peoria. Knox was founded in 1837 and was the site of one of the Lincoln-Douglas debates. It is focused on the liberal arts. It is the home of a unique Peace Corps Preparatory Program. It is also known for its Green Oaks term during which students stay at a biological field station.

Summer Programs at Knox College

College for Kids is a morning summer enrichment program for gifted and high-achieving students from Galesburg and surrounding communities. Students should be entering grades 3–8. Students choose three courses from art, technology, yoga, Japanese, science and more. Courses are led by Knox faculty and area teachers. Financial aid is available.
