Georgia Southern University is a medium-sized public research university located in the small city of Statesboro, convenient to Savannah. The campus includes “The Lamar Q Ball, Jr. Raptor Center” and the “Georgia Southern Botanical Garden” It is active in research on energy-related issues and materials science.

Summer Programs at Georgia Southern University

An Artful Exchange is for ages 11 and up. Students explore their creativity and are introduced to the works to O'Keefe, Picasso, Marc and others.

Health Career Camp is for high school students. Students will meet health professionals, learn about challenges in healthcare, tour facilities and get advice on preprofessional studies in health care.

LEGO Robotics is a fun introduction to the basics of computer programming, robotics and engineering by building simple programmable robots and programming them to perform tasks. No experience necessary! Space Camp is for any student, grade 4 and up, fascinated by space and the planets. Students learn about stars, planets, the space station and more with daily trips to the Planetarium.

Junior Naturalist Summer Camp is an outdoor-oriented introduction to nature studies.

Camp Invention is for grades 1 through 6 and encourages children to think creatively to solve real world problems.

ALA Girls State is a free one week residential immersion into leadership and the government process. Through a nonpartisan curriculum, girls assume the roles of government leaders and experience the basic ideals of the democratic process.

There are sports camps in archery, volleyball, baseball, golf, football, tennis, softball, basketball, cheerleading and soccer. The Soccer Academies include two held in Atlanta and Augusta.
