Florida International University is a large urban, public research university located in Miami with several campuses in South Florida. It is the seventh-largest university in the United States.
The Summer Research Internship pairs high school students with a mentor to allow the student to work on science research during the summer. Students arrange a schedule with their mentor for at 20 hours of research per week for eight weeks. There are also workshops and meetings for participants.
The Art of Summer is for children ages 6 to 14. Students choose a concentration area from art, dance, piano or guitar and basketball or tennis. Students will receive two hours of instruction each day from a FIU adjunct faculty member. Campers will also have snacks, games and field trips. There are two four-week camps. There is a discount for students participating in both sessions.
