Cleveland Institute of Music Logo

Cleveland Institute of Music is a very small conservatory affiliated with Case Western Reserve University. It was founded by noted composer Ernest Bloch in 1920. It has a large number of distinguished alumni and its faculty include Jaime Laredo, Sharon Robinson, David Shifrin and many more.

Summer Programs at Cleveland Institute of Music

Young Composers Program is a one-week experience for students, ages 14–19. Students will instruction in composition, be exposed to a wide array of contemporary classical music, study notation and have a work performed and professionally recorded.

Summer Sonata is a two-week program for pianists, ages 10–18 and includes group and individual classes, theory, ear-training, Dalcroze eurhythmics and more.
