Aspen Institute is an international nonprofit organization founded in 1950 as the Aspen Institute of Humanistic Studies. The organization is dedicated to fostering enlightened leadership, the appreciation of timeless ideas and values, and open-minded dialogue on contemporary issues.

Summer Programs at Aspen Institute

The Bezos Scholars Program is a year-long leadership development program. The Program begins with selected scholars receiving a scholarship to attend the Aspen Ideas Festival. This Festival is a week-long event in Aspen, Colorado which includes seminars by politicians, artists and writers. Scholars are expected to return home and inspire change in their own communities. Scholars are chosen from public high school students and teachers from the U.S. and Africa.
